A higher standard of care

Emilie Rucci, VMD

Emilie Rucci, DVM of Fairfield Equine Services

Emilie is a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where she consistently earned a place on the Dean’s List with an impressive 3.99 GPA. She comes to us with a strong academic background and outstanding recommendations from faculty, including the Associate Professor of the Section of Field Service at Penn Vet.

Originally from New Jersey, Emilie has deep roots in the equestrian world, having competed on the USEF A-rated hunter/jumper show circuit. She also spent winters as a working student at Brass Ring Farm in Wellington, FL. Her hands-on experience is equally impressive—Emilie has worked as an ambulatory technician at The Feiner Equine in Ringoes, NJ and as a hospital technician at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center.

At Penn, she was an active member of several groups, including the NBC Surgery crew, Journal Club, Starting Gate (for aspiring equine practitioners), and SCAAEP. Emilie also volunteered in the vet boxes at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event and the MARS Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill, where she assisted with physical exams and wellness checks for high-level competition horses.

While her busy schedule doesn’t allow much time for competition these days, Emilie still enjoys riding her semi-retired jumper whenever she can.
