A higher standard of care

Lamise Al-Basha, DVM

Dr. Lamise Al-Basha of Fairfield Equine Services

Being an equine veterinarian is a lifelong dream achieved for Dr. Al-Basha. She inherited her love of horses from her mother and has since built her life around the care and wellbeing of the horse.

Dr. Al-Basha grew up as a Pony Clubber in Illinois, riding and competing in eventing. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Veterinary Sciences at Augustana College in Illinois and continued to earn her doctorate from the University of Illinois in 2018.

Following graduation, Dr. Al-Basha knew she wanted to immerse herself in the vibrant horse country of the Northeast and was therefore excited to accept an internship at Fairfield Equine.

The ability to practice high-quality, progressive medicine on a variety of horses including elite sport horses and beloved companions led Dr. Al-Basha to join the Fairfield team as an Associate Veterinarian after her internship.

Her professional interests include sports medicine, preventative medicine, and emergency work. Above all, Dr. Al-Basha understands the unique bond between horse and owner and is dedicated to providing excellent, compassionate care to all of her patients.

When she is not working, Dr. Al-Basha enjoys traveling, baking, lifting weights, hiking with her two dogs (Rashka and Athena), and spending time with family and friends.
