Dr. Nicole Zitzmann is originally from Long Island, NY, where her passion for the equine athlete began while growing up riding and showing hunter/jumpers as well as working as a groom at a busy lesson/show barn.
She earned her Bachelor's in Animal Science from Cornell University in 2017, while also riding for their varsity equestrian team. She loved the Ithaca area so much, she stuck around to earn her veterinary degree from Cornell as well.
While in veterinary school, Nicole was a student technician for the large animal surgery department and was a leader of multiple student organizations including SAVMA, AAEP and the Sports Medicine Club. She was also inducted into the Phi Zeta honor society as a fourth-year student.
Nicole was very excited to stay in the Northeast and accept an internship position with Fairfield Equine after graduating from vet school in May 2022.
Her professional interests include sports medicine, complementary therapies, and emergency medicine.
Outside of work, Nicole enjoys running, riding, cheering on her favorite NY sports teams, and exploring wineries/breweries with friends.
